The term includes application software such as a word processor which perform productive task for users, system software such as an operating system, which interfaces with the hardware to provide the necessary services for application software, and middle ware, which controls and co-ordinates distributed system. Computers cannot do any useful work without instructions from the software; thus a combination of software and hardware is necessary to do any computerized work. A program must tell the computer each of the tasks to be performed, in a framework of logic, so that the computer knows exactly what to do and when to do it. To make learning fun, educational computer softwares are in much demand. The approach of teaching by means of games are used in tutorials in which learners competes with themselves. Such a software appeals to persons of all ages but particularly to young children, who can learn skills related to reading and arithmetic. Older children and adults can learn or improve on a wide variety of more mature skills. With the advent of technology, people are becoming tech-savvy.
